Wayne

Cultural Supervisor

Wayne is a Pakana man from Northern Tasmania with extensive experience in mental health. He is a qualified Social Worker and has worked in clinical, acute, outreach, and community mental health services across many different settings including adult, youth and justice; government and non-government organisations.

Wayne is an experienced supporter of people in the workspace; he has hosted and supervised student placements, managed and supported staff, and provided cultural as well as clinical and professional supervision.

Cultural supervision is a particular area of interest for Wayne. He understands the challenges and pressures facing Indigenous health workers, and the challenges and pressures on the health system itself.

Wayne is an experienced counsellor and uses frameworks such as CBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and narrative therapy.

Wayne’s experience crosses over management, clinical, and cultural areas and he is deeply passionate about supporting First Nations workers to be safe and thrive.

Wayne currently lives and works on the land of the Muwinina people of Nipaluna, Hobart.
